Studying the Population of a Prospective Medicinal Plant Serratula coronata l. within the Bukhar-Zhyrauskiy District of Karaganda Oblast

Abstract:
In the present article, authors evaluate and identify plants that are suitable for producing medicinal products within the population of the Serratula coronata l. The article presents data tables that include the Serratula coronata age spectra within natural communities and the productivity indicators of the Serratula coronata in various communities throughout the Bukhar-Zhyrauskiy district of the Karaganda Oblast. The work also identifies the quantity, the age and productivity of the plant tops and the variability of several morphometric features of the middle-aged generative plants within the natural populations of the Serratula coronata.

Hydrogenation of Benzene on the RuCo Supported Catalyst

Abstract:
A RuCo/PSB (Pillar-structured bentonite) catalyst was used to study the hydrogenation of benzene between temperatures from 80°C to 200°C and pressures between 0.5mPa and 6.0mPa. To create the supported catalysts, the author used a pillar-structured bentonite (PSB) that was obtained through the intercalation of poly-hydro-oxy-complexes of molybdenum (5.0 to 30.0 mmol/g of clay) between layers of clay. The specific surface of these samples is 220-260 m2/g and they retain their thermal stability up to a temperature of 600°C. The reaction of the RuCo/PSB catalysts to the poisoning by sulphur-containing compounds during the hydrogenation of benzene was studied by adding various amounts of thiophene (S~50-500 ppm) to the raw materials. The internal diffusion resistance of the reacting molecules was evaluated through the Thiele-Zeldovich criteria. The experimental data has allowed the author to establish that the most stability towards poisoning by thiophene (S~50-500 ppm) is seen at 1,0 % RuCo/PSB (Ru:Co = 1:1) where the conversion of benzene is 74% on the 60th minute of the reaction at 180°C and 4.0mPa.

Analysis of the Ventilation System in the Ushkatyn-3 Mine while Accounting for the Impact of the Natural Draft

Abstract:
The study provides various combinations of installing the main fans within a mining system and evaluates the effectiveness of the chosen ventilation system. To block or to decrease the negative impact of the natural draft within extreme winter conditions, the article proposes to use local area fans which are installed in the adit without crosspieces and which work according to the principle of the cross-interaction of the ventilation flows.

he Problem of the Will to Power and the “Overman” in the Philosophy of Nietzsche

Abstract:
The philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche is a typical example of axiology. The nihilism within Nietzsche’s philosophy calls for a decrease in the importance of eternal values. According to him, the European culture is influenced by a crisis of an inner culture. The idea of the “overman” is central to Nietzsche’s philosophy.

The Particularities of Creating an Image of a Historical Figure

Abstract:
The writer’s position is usually derived from his literary understanding. The author’s stance is the basis for his vision. The author-artist’s way of expression is closely associated with the goals and tasks that he has put forth for working with the ideas and thoughts that he wants to relay to the reader. No matter what kind of a writer he is, he cannot stand independent of his nation. It follows, then, that he is messenger of a certain level of a national idea. If we are to hold this view, that the “national idea” is the experience of an ethnicity that is implemented through various factors of time and space, constantly renewed in their links with knowledge and interests, however, without losing their previous characteristics in the short-term, then this is the organising principle, the nucleus, that has incorporated both separate and common values of a natural-historical and mysterious essence, consciousness, character and culture, which leads to the birth of social goals and desires as well as the actions and movements of a nation.

Adapting Korean Mythological Character Names into English Texts

Abstract:
The article’s author notes that, according to thematic classification, Korean mythological character names are fairly widely represented in English texts. These names are classified according to semantic characteristics into mythological anthroponyms, mythological personal names, mythological toponyms and mythological animal names. The author is also able to identify two other groups of mythological names: magical items that are mentioned in myths as well as a group of abstract concepts. The material being analysed is both the assimilated borrowings that are already present in dictionaries as well as words during their stage of being borrowed which are presented as texts. The article gives a short summary of the particular characteristics of the phonographic and grammatical adaptation of Korean mythological names into English sources. The author notes several patterns in the linguistic representation of Korean mythological vocabulary within English texts. In particular, this is the fact that the borrowings do not have a clear distinction of the Korean mythological names into proper nouns and common nouns.

Critical Assessment of the Artistic and Industrial Education in 1876–1900 (Baron von Stieglitz Central College of Technical Drawing Case Study)

Abstract:
The article is devoted to critically analysing the Baron von Stieglitz Central College of Technical Drawing within periodical printed press and published literature. The article offers a detailed summary of the specialised periodicals between 1870 and 1900 (Zodchiy, Nedelya Stroitelya and others) and allows the authors to trace the relationship between the professional corporate environment and the activities of the college. The assessments under study were predominantly positive, with many articles expressing their admiration that such an educational facility was created. However, there were also a fair number of claims that the college’s method of hitting hands led to a decrease in the drawing quality for the most talented students. Despite this fact, a significant number of masters graduated from the Baron’s College between 1876 and 1900 who were able to support the artistic industry. A majority of the publications surrounding the history of the college in the last few decades are either of a very narrow specialised character or are, on the contrary, very general summaries that rely mostly on the materials of the unpublished monograph of N. A. Mikhin which is kept in the Baron von Stieglitz College library.

The Thermal Regimes of Several Soil Types in Armenia

Abstract:
The observation data from 30 meteorological stations was used to research the thermal regime of various types of soils in Armenia. The present study analyses the features of the heat exchange in the soil and air system, how the soil surface temperature varies with the location’s elevation, the surface thermal regime of various types of soils and the patterns of heat distribution in the surface and deep layers of soil. These results, together with the earlier research conducted on the soils of Georgia, give a clear picture of the thermal regime of various soils in the Transcaucasia region.
