Attitudes of Nurses Towards Patients at the End of their Life: Using FATCOD-B in the Ghanaian Context

European Researcher. Series A. 2022. 13(1): 4-10.
DOI: 10.13187/er.2022.1.4CrossRef

Abstract:
Nursing care for dying patients is a vital nursing role. However, little is known about the demographic characteristics and attitudes of Ghanaian nurses towards the care of dying patients. We explored nurses’ demographic profiles and attitudes toward patients at the end of their life in Ghana. We used a quantitative descriptive cross-sectional research design. Five hundred and seventy female nurses from the Ashanti and Greater Accra Regions of Ghana were voluntarily given the Frommelt Attitudes towards the Care of the Dying Care Form B (FATCOD-B) to complete. The FATCOD-B showed a good Cronbach’s alpha before analysis. Data analysis was conducted using Chi-square and Independent t-Test. Results showed that nurses generally shared positive attitudes toward dying patients. However, the cultural context of the Ghanaian nurses affected their perceptions toward appreciation, family support, and prejudice about dying patients. Further studies are required to validate the FATCOD-B across a broader Ghanaian nursing population.

Culture of Ryazan-Oka Burial Grounds. Results of the study of the Undrich Complex

European Researcher. Series A. 2022. 13(1): 16-41.
DOI: 10.13187/er.2022.1.16CrossRef

Abstract:
The study of the сulture of the Ryazan-Oka burial grounds, or as it has been called more often lately, the Ryazan-Oka culture has been more than 100 years old. Its main area was the Middle Oka banks, with a significant tendency to dominate in the Volga-Oka interfluve from the first centuries AD until the 60s of the VII century AD. This work is the first to study the DNA of the Ryazan-Oka people in the context of migration and ethnic processes. The team of authors try to find a way for the application of DNA research in archaeology to find the correlations of different ethnic processes in the history of the area. The DNA data demonstrates the differentiated character of external connections of Ryazan-Oka culture. Some lineages showed the connection with Siberia-Perm region (what correlates well with the existence of Sargat sources of the culture), with the Black Sea region (what correlates well with the presence in the culture the descendant of meotes or aorses). The specific attention should be given to the lineags which are connected with the North-Western part of Russian plain and the Baltic shore. This allows study further the possible connection of Ryazan-Oka culture and the formation of ancient Rus military society.

Formation of Deposit Resources of Commercial Banks at the Present Stage: Problems and Prospects of Development

European Researcher. Series A. 2022. 13(1): 42-51.
DOI: 10.13187/er.2022.1.42CrossRef

Abstract:
The author of the article explores the issues of the depository policy of commercial banks, which is based on the prospect of the development of the banking system as a whole. The attraction of cash national currency in circulation outside of credit institutions becomes a priority for the formation of resource potential and the effectiveness of its use. In terms of economic uncertainty, this resource should be used more actively. The article analyzes the most popular Russian banks in the deposit market, the rating of Russian banks by the volume of deposits, the structure of deposit attracted funds of individuals and corporate clients by urgency. Currently, the potential of banks to attract funds from individuals and legal entities in the market has not yet been exhausted. Thus, during the analysis, it was revealed that when developing a policy for raising funds, banks should follow certain criteria for its improvement, which may include the following components, namely: close connection between bank deposits, loans and other operations to maintain the stability of the bank, reliability and its financial stability; diversification of banking resources to minimize risks; separation of deposit portfolio for different customer segments; different approach methods for different customer groups. This set of measures and financial instruments will contribute to stability in the development of the banking system and the effectiveness of the conceptual approaches implemented by the regulator in the system of settlement relations.
